ABOUT:
John Maclure Community School...
is located in the beautiful Fraser Valley city of Abbotsford, BC. This Canadian city is located about 60km east of Vancouver. The school is a K-5 school with approximately 315 students.
Our school offers an effective Early Literacy Program including Reading Recovery and guided reading. We also have a strong ESL program, and a variety of behavioural support systems organized by our Youth And Childcare Worker.
We have two large soccer fields as well as an new adventure playground which the PAC provided for our students. In addition we have a paved double outdoor basketball court. A full computer lab is available for students. It features the Jostens Integrated Learning System as well as conventional word processing capabilities and net surfing.
JOHN MACLURE COMMUNITY SCHOOL SOCIETY
The John Maclure Community School Society was established in July 1995. It enables people to explore their potential while building community. While the school is the heart of our neighbourhood, we envision our neighbourhood as the Heart of the City!
The Society has a Community School Board consisting of parents, staff and agency representatives. This board promotes the free exchange of ideas, identifies local needs and participates in decision-making and feedback in areas of local concern.

The John Maclure Community School Society is an association of the people, who are members of the community, dedicated to the well-being of our neighbourhood.
