Supplies... You are expected to arrive to class, prepared to work, when the bell rings. Bring the following items on a daily basis:
- pen/pencil,
- lined paper,
- calculator (Math, Accounting) and
- 3-ring binder.
Attendance... It is the expectation that students will be in attendance. It is the student’s responsibility to find out what has been missed, if absent. Students who are absent with legitimate reasons will be given an opportunity to catch-up. Unexcused classes result in a lost opportunity to make up assignments for marks. In addition, you will fall behind in course content.
If you are absent, check the course website for details as to what was discussed or assigned that day, in addition to up-coming events and deadlines.
Lates... If you arrive late to class, sign in at the office, and quietly come in, sit down and start working. A detention will be assigned for those who are unexcused late. Students who are excessively late will be referred to administration for lunch hour detention or Saturday school.
Assignments & Projects... Assignments are expected to be completed on time! Late assignments will be docked a late penalty off the mark attained . All assignments are required to be completed. NHI’s are not acceptable.
Missed Quizzes & Tests... In-class spontaneous quizzes cover material discussed in previous classes and are usually written at the start of the class.
Scheduled quizzes and tests cover unit material. A student who misses a test and brings a note (or parent(s) phone in/e-mail) excusing his/her absence(s), will be given an opportunity to make up the test. Students are responsible to arrange to write the missed test.
