Science 8 Lab Reports

Presentation Rules:
• All Headings Present
• Headings underlined with a ruler
• Written in blue/black ink or typed.

Lab Report Format  

Name: Write your name first and include your partner(s) name(s)

Date: Write the date

Score:    leave room for your score   

Title: Copy from Text or teacher’s notes given to you.   

Purpose:
Usually given to you by your teacher. Sometimes your own idea. Must explain the reason you are doing the investigation. (What are you trying to find out/prove?)

Materials:  All materials used must be listed

Safety: record from your lab instructions in the text of teacher notes. Include all safety precautions that must be taken.  

Procedure :  
You must list all steps taken to do this activity (Past Tense).
Steps must be sequential. A complete stranger should be able to to the experiment following your procedure

Data:  (Observations, charts, graphs, drawings etc.)  All charts,graphs  and tables must have the appropriate headings and lines drawn with a ruler.   

Conclusion:   This explains exactly what you learned in the lab. It answers the question asked in your purpose

Discussion Questions:
Questions are written and answered in complete sentences.


All Lab Reports should be typed or written in blue/black ink.
