Dec 1, 2009 - Xa:ytem Longhouse Interpretive Centre
A big thank you to all the staff at the Xa:ytem Longhouse!! We all had a great time and couldn't of asked for a more beautiful day. Students had a chance to learn about artificats, how canoes and materials were made. Everone had an opportunity to make bracelts, try weaving, dig for artifacts, visit the pit house and the transformation rock. Another big thank you to our parent volunteers who came out, along with Cyndi our Aboriginal Mentor. I could not have done it without all of you. Looking forward to our next Aboriginal Adventure!  
Students will have the oppertunity to learn about the history of the Sto:lo people, learn about fishing and preservations techniques, visit the pit house and learn about different types of homes. They will visit the transformation stone and hear the legend. We will have an oppertunity to make cedar bracelts, try Salish weaving and much more!

March 26, 2010 - Capilano Suspension Bridge/Cleveland Dam
A big Thank you to the tour guides at the Capilano Suspension Bridge, Parent Volunteers and Staff. We had the sun shine on us all day! Everyone had an opportunity to visit all the attractions at the park, learn the history and take some amazing photos. The Cleveland Dam was a great place to unwind and eat lunch. Many thanks to all.
Students will be visitng Vancouver's oldest tourist attraction originally built in 1889 - the Capilano Suspension Bridge. They will be touring the beautiful gardens, totem poles and the treetop adventure. They will learn about the history and culture and captivating stories about the First Nations story poles added to the park in the 1930's. After the bridge adventure we will drive up to the Cleveland Dam for lunch and return back to the school.
Field trip forms have now gone out and are due back March 19, 2010

May 28, 2010 - Grouse Mountain
What an amazing day!! Students had opportunities to go inside The Eye of The Wind , Vancouvers Wind Turbine and the world's only turbine with an elevater all the way to the top! Breathtaking. We had a chance to visit the Bears, see the Wolves and experience an amazing culutral experience in the longhouse. The elder there is the nephew of Chief Dan Goerge and dedicated the experience to the students of Chief Dan George by reading poetry and singing songs from Chief Dan George. An Amazing and unforgettable trip. Thank you to all our volunteers and staff who came along and to the staff up at Grouse.
Students will be allowed to visit the Wildlife Habitat, enjoy a cultural presentation at the Hiwus Feasthouse, eat lunch while watching an amazing lumberjack show and be one of the first to witness sustainability in motion first hand at Vancouver's first wind turbine!!
